Directions:
The Lodge is in a very small coastal village called Portling, the nearest main town is Dalbeattie. As you come into the village continue on the same road past the Coastguards station on your left until you reach a grassy junction. At this fork in the road you turn left towards Sandy Hills Footpath down towards the sea. Take the next right right along a stone track until you reach the lodge towards the end of the track on the left hand side. You will see the sign and there is a private driveway with parking for 2 cars. There is also a ramp up to the entrance which takes you up onto the covered terrace and around to the front door. There is a garden to the front and the back of the cabin with outside seating areas and tables for alfresco dining.

Local Bus Services – There is a bus stop at Portling. The number of the bus route is 372A.
Trains – There are 2 main train stations locally: Dumfries is a 40 minute drive away (20 miles) and Lockerbie is a 60 minute drive away (34 miles).
The nearest airports are Glasgow 2 hours drive (103 miles), Edinburgh 2 hours 20 minute drive (118 miles), Newcastle 2 hours 20 minutes (108 miles).
